Description

The Swedish internet-based health care company, Min Doktor, has announced the dismissal of 50 employees working at different locations in Sweden, corresponding to around 20% of the company’s staff. Seven health care and vaccination centres in Skåne, Umeå, Enköping and Botkyrka are closing. Min Doktor has initiated cooperation negotiations with the trade unions. The reason for the closure, according to the company, is the need to reach a state of profitability. The results of the negotiations will be know by 1 January 2023.

Min Doktor is often referred to as the first digital health care actor in Sweden and has during recent years also expanded the business beyond net-based care, managing over 20 physical health care centres in the country. The turnover for 2021 increased by 27 %, from 257 million SEK (€24 million) to 327 million SEK (€30 million) compared to the year before, whereas the accumulated losses grew to a total of 171 million SEK (€16 million). Tech companies have however faced economically harsh times recently with less investments due to higher interest rates and inflation.

Currently, Min Doktor employs 250 people in Sweden.
