Description
Terminal Investment Limited (TIL), a subsidiary of the MSC shipping group, has announced a €700 million investment in the port of Le Havre (Upper Normandy) to triple the storage capacity of the two Port 2000 containers. TIL announces the recruitment of 1,250 people by 2028. From 2022, TIL will hire 150 dockworkers to join the 750 dockworkers currently on the site, then 900 others by 2028, as well as 200 employees in support functions (maintenance, IT, management, engineers...).
To achieve this investment, TIL has signed an agreement with the CGT dockers' union, which 'is committed to increasing the productivity of the terminals', according to TIL's management. The agreement has commitments in terms of investment, productivity, staffing and recruitment.
