Vitesco Technologies, a publicly traded automotive supplier for powertrain technologies announced around 800 job cuts by the end of 2026 at its production plant in Nuremberg, Bavaria, Germany.
According to the company, the Nuremberg plant is to be more automated and more efficiently positioned and the job cuts are necessary to maintain production in Germany. The general works council condemned the measure.
Vitesco Technologies headquartered in Regensburg, Germany employs around 37,000 people at 50 sites worldwide and has a turnover of around € 8,3 billion in 2021.
