Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Technology company VMware has announced to create 205 new jobs in Ireland over the next three years. The company currently employs over 1,000 employees at its offices in Cork. The company has been based there since 2005 and Ireland is currently its third largest location globally. The new roles will be based in Dublin but employees will have the option to work remotely. The company believes offering the opportunity to work remotely will attract leading talent and will maximise 'productivity, morale, performance and team cohesion'.
A former businees expansion was recorded in the ERM database in 2007, with 300 jobs created (VMWare-2007-IE).
