Description

Swedish furniture and household equipment retailer Ikea will open a new store in Stockholm on June 30th, and will hire 160 people.

The new store is located in the city centre. Ikea's stores have traditionally been located outside the city but the company believes that the new store will have a large clientele, since many people living in the city do not have a car and prefer to do shopping in the city centre, as it is less time-consuming.

According to the Swedish Trade Federation, Ikea is an example of a retailer that combines multiple channels: e-commerce, larger stores outside of the city as well as store in the city center.
