Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Ouihelp, a company specialised in home help for the elderly, has just raised €30 million to finance its development and recruit 300 employees in France within two years. Ouihelp has developed a home help solution based on a matching algorithm that enables families to find the most suitable home help for their loved ones, as well as tools for monitoring interventions and automating administrative tasks. The funds raised should enable Ouihelp to continue to develop new services to automate the more administrative tasks, to recruit 300 people and 2,500 home helpers (who have been considered as self-employed) over the next two years and to expand throughout France.
Ouihelp currently has 180 employees and 800 home helpers, supports 2,000 families in some 30 towns and cities, and has an annual turnover of €25 million.
