Description

Car component supplier EKB has announced the relocation of its production plant from Braunau, Upper Austria, to Romania resulting in 300 job cuts. At the moment, 700 people are employed at the company's site in Braunau, whereof 300 production workers will be dismissed. The company spokesman named the inability to enlarge the production capacity at the current site as a reason for the relocation. The remaining parts of the company's site in Braunau will be converted to research and developement. A redundancy programme has been elaborated. There will be considerable support for the employees, the company has stated.
