Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Danish wind turbine systems manufacturer Vestas has announced that it will cut 275 jobs around the world, 75 of whom are in Denmark. The company complained about the cost pressures from the supply chain and logistics, therefore it needed to adjust its activity.
Founded in 1898 in Denmark, Vestas currently employs over 29,000 people worldwide.
Previous job cuts announced by the company are recorded in the ERM database in 2021, with the closure of three factories located in Germany, Denmark, and Spain and 650 job cuts (Vestas2021-EU).
