Description
Alufix, a producer of tinfoil, will shutdown its production site in Wiener Neudorf, causing 112 employees to loose their jobs. The company went bankrupt three years ago, but was saved by an Austrian investor. As a company spokesman has stated that the new owners were optimistic back in 2019. However, consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, increasing commodity prices and unfavourable market developements have made a continuing operation unbearable.
The union has requested a search for new investors to take over the bankrupt company.
