The rescue services provider Red Cross ("Rotes Kreuz") has announced to hire 215 employees in Salzburg on the company's website. The reason for this outstanding increase of engangement in personnel is the setup of infrastrucure for testing for COVID-19. In total, 14 permanent testing facilties and 8 mobile testing teams were setup. Next to the paramedics for the testing sites, administrative stuff was hired in cooperation with the local employment office.
Red Cross Austria has 8,364 employees (2022) and is the biggest aid agency in the country.
