Description

ABB, a worldwide group of industrial technology, shuts down it's regional business service centre in Tallinn resulting in 247 dismissals. The work done in Tallinn will be carried out by other exisiting service centres in Poland and India. The center was opened in Tallinn in 2016 with the aim of supporting the ABB's activities in the field of finance, human resources and supply chain. The reason for shutting down the centre is to simplify and standardise their processes in their financial division. 80 jobs will be kept in Tallinn in personnell service division. It is expected that the persons losing their job can continue in ABB in other positions or they will find a new job in financial sector in Estonia as other companies have already expressed the need for financialk sector workers. ABB will cooperate with recruitment agencies to helpt the people to to find new jobs.

ABB has been active in Estonia for 30 years and is mostly engaged in the production of generators, actuators, electrical switchboards and the like, and the sale of transmission networks, low-voltage equipment and others.
