Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Leo Pharma, a Danish company in medical dermatology, has announced a new operating model and it will cut 1,000 positions worldwide over the next two years. The plan aims at optimising the commercial part of the business and the R&D organisation as well as to increase its international competitiveness. Sixty-eight employees have already been dismissed. The company does not want to reveal where all the dismissals will take place, but has promised to support its ex-employees.
LEO Pharma was founded in 1908 and is headquartered in Ballerup, Denmark. Globally, it employs 6,000 people. In 2020, the company had a turnover of DKK 10 billion.
