Description

The hotel chain Scandic is opening a new hotel- Scandic Göteborg Central- in central Gothenburg by June 2022. The chain has announced the recruitment of 170 new people in all the departments within the hotel: 120 will be permanent positions and 50 will be summer jobs. The recruitment process will start in mid-January. The hotel will be one of the largest in Gothenburg.

During 2021, Scandic has shown a good recovery despite the tourism and hospitality industry being one of the sectors most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. The employers’ organisation Visita has estimated that the industry will recover to pre-pandemic levels in late 2023/early 2024.

Scandic is the largest hotel chain in the Nordic countries and counts over 280 hotels in 130 locations and over 10,000 employees.

In 2020, Scandic announced 2,000 job cuts in Sweden, as recorded in the ERM database.
