Description

Belgian sand and mineral extraction and production company Sibelco is planning to cut up to 600 jobs worldwide by the end of 2022. So far, 15 jobs are to be cut in Belgium. According to the company, the restructuring programme is aimed to safeguard Sibelco's competitive position and its potential for future growth; it is part of the company’s larger transformation plan of improving operational, commercial, and financial performance by 2025.

Sibelco was founded in 1872 and is a global material solutions company; it sources, transforms and distributes industrial minerals, like silica, clays, and olivine. The company has 114 production sites and 16 technical centres worldwide; currently, it employs more than 5,300 in 31 countries, including 370 in Belgium.
