Description
Amazon has opened its new logistics centre in Corvera (Murcia), which will create 1,200 permanent jobs in the next three years. The new centre has more than 160,000 square meters and is equipped with Amazon Robotics technology, implementing mobile robotic fulfilment systems to pick, pack, and ship orders through a system that could deliver any item to any operator at any time. Moreover, this new logistics plant is prepared for low energy consumption and low CO2 emissions: low consumption LED lighting systems, high thermal efficiency windows, and solar panels that will provide 100% of the energy needed. Local and regional governments have celebrated the opening of this centre, expressing the positive effect on employment and the economy of Murcia.
The announcement comes after the company opened another logistic centre in Murcia in 2020 creating 200 jobs.
