Description

Professional services company Grant Thornton is to hire 1,000 staff over a three-year period. The company currently employs 1,550 people in Ireland and the new roles are to meet increasing demand for accountancy and professional services. The firm indicated in particular strong and growing demand from its clients in financial services and technology.

Recruitment for the roles began in September with the company recruiting 170 jobs for its tax division.

The new roles are a mix of graduate and experienced practitioners and will be across all business areas including accounting, actuarial, cyber security, technology and other business areas.

Firm representatives indicated that labour shortages in Ireland for some of the specialised positions were necessitating hiring abroad from non-EU countries including India, the Phillipines, Canada and Australia.
