Description

The Swedish and Danish postal service company, Postnord, is expanding its operations and opening up around 160 new job positions in Ljungby, in southern Sweden. The company has already hired around 60 people during the autumn of 2021.

Job creation is related to the construction of the new logistics warehouse for PostNord TPL in Ljungby, which was announced in May and is expected to be fully operational in the summer of 2022. The property will be a so-called multi-customer warehouse, which means that several customers will be handled in the same building. According to PostNord's Regional Manager for Småland, the company has a large new e-commerce customer that will be handled in the property. In addition, PostNord is moving some of its existing assignments to the new premises in Ljungby. The company estimates that over 200 people will work at the warehouse, which means that around 160 new job positions are being created.

PostNord AB was created in 2009 by the Swedish government and consists of the Swedish postal service (Posten) and the Danish postal service (Post Danmark). 39.3% of the company is owned by the Danish State and 60.7% is owned by the Swedish State. The votes are divided 50/50 between the owners. With the merger of Posten AB and Post Danmark A/S in 2009, PostNord AB has become the largest communications and logistics services company in the Nordic region. The company has net sales for around SEK 40 billion.
