Description
The state-owned JSC Rīga International Airport plans to hire more than 200 employees by the end of 2021.
Laila Odiņa, the Chairman of the Airport Board, informed that the situation in the aviation sector is stabilizing. In August, the number of passengers served by the Riga Airport has almost reached half of the pre-crisis level. Furthermore, the number of flights planned by airlines for the winter season is similar to the 2019 levels.
The company will also need employees to implement development plans. The airport continues to work on both the new passenger terminal project and the RIX Cargo City cargo service centre. Ryanair has recently opened a base in Riga and from January the airport will fully take over the ground handling of the national airline airBaltic.
Currently, the company has opened around 40 vacancies and an even larger number of vacancies will be announced in the near future. Currently, the largest number of vacancies is in the positions of aircraft maintenance agent and aviation security inspector. New jobs will also be offered to baggage handling agents, equipment operators, loading foremen, aircraft technicians and others.
