European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
D'Ieteren Garages, a part of the wider D'Ieteren group, which is a Belgian importer and distributor of cars, has announced that it will be closing 2 of its facilities in both Elsene and Drogenbos. In total, around 100 jobs are currently facing dismissal. The problems at the company have been ongoing for quite some time, with actions by personnel and the unions against reductions in wages and employment conditions, as well as a referendum on the future of the company.
Following the announcement of the management, further actions and strikes were undertaken.
