Description

The TKE (ex-Thyssenkrupp Ascenseurs) factory in Saint-Barthélemy-d'Anjou is preparing to definitely stop its manufacturing line. The company's management has announced to staff representatives the forthcoming cut of the last 55 production jobs at the site, as part of a social plan. This reorganisation project is part of an overall strategy to transform TKE into a service company in the highly competitive lift installation and maintenance market.

The site will retain only the administrative services, the training centre and the agency, which is essentially made up of technicians. That is 220 employees in total, compared to 275 currently employed. Negotiations with the social partners are due to begin on 22 September, with a view to a gradual end to activity from March 2022. The management would like to propose individual solutions for each of the 55 employees affected by the job cuts.

ERM reported a previous restructuring event in 2014 with 258 job cuts.
