Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
German auto manufacturer Schaeffler launched a new production site in Szombathely. Over the next five years, 150 new jobs will be created at the new plant, with further expansion envisaged afterwards.
The new plant will produce electric motor components, elevating the participation of the conglomerate in the field of electromobility to a new level. The factory is expected to reach maximum capacity between 2026 and 2029. The investment cost was about €67 million, €14 million of which was granted by the government.
Schaeffler had already two plants in Szombathely, the first one has been operating for 25 years. With the third unit, Szombathely will become one of the largest Schaeffler production hubs globally.
