The US-owned e-commerce company Amazon has announced it will create 55,000 new jobs worldwide in the coming months. The company is to recruit for corporate and technology roles at its units around the world. The source reports that over 40,000 jobs will be created in the United States and 2,500 in the UK, while others will be in Germany, India, Japan and other locations.
In the UK, Amazon is to hire new employees at its offices in London and Manchester as well as at its technology hubs in Cambridge and Edinburgh. Amazon is to strength its operations in retail, the cloud, advertising, engineering, research science and robotics. The recruitment drive will be part of Amazon’s careers day scheduled for 15 September 2021.
