Description
The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced the creation of 8,546 new jobs under the Romanian General Inspectorate for Emergencies (IGSU) and its subordinated structures. The new jobs are for 121 officers, 25 army masters and 8,400 professional soldiers. By the end of 2021 a total of 1,479 positions will be filled.
Continuously reducing the number of posts between 2010 to 2014 has led to problems in IGSU's departments, with staff having difficulties in carrying out their tasks. Staff shortcomings have also hampered the organisational development of the institution.
The main cause of the downsizing was the institutional restructuring process carried out between 2010 and 2011, which dismantled 14,058 positions and led to the dismissal of 1,300 people. The new positions will be filled gradually between 2021 and 2025. Â
