Vehicle manufacturing company Stellantis Gliwice, a subsidiary of Stellantis, announced that it will create 500 new jobs at its new production facility in Gliwice at the beginning of 2022. Stellantis Gliwice was created after the merger of Opel Manufacturing Poland and PSA Manufacturing Poland operating in Gliwice. Under the merger, the company will take over about 2,000 employees currently hired by Opel. The factory in Gliwice has previously produced the Astra car (the production of the model will be relocated to Rüsselsheim in Germany within the next months); after the transformation, the site will produce the new models of vans: Opel Movano, Peugeot Boxer, Citroen Jumper and Fiat Ducato. The series production is to be launched in April 2022, but prototype models are expected to be produced from fall 2021. Next year, nearly 40,000-50,000 delivery vehicles should leave the production lines and, a year later, the plant should reach its full production capacity of 100,000 cars per year.
