Description

Healthcare manufacturing company Bausch & Lomb is to create 130 new jobs at its plant in Waterford. Recruitment for the new jobs will begin in 2022 and the new production lines are expected to come on stream in 2023 when the 130 additional jobs will come on stream. During the construction phase of the expansion, about 150 workers are expected to be hired.

This is the third major expansion of the Waterford plant in recent years. The new investment will increase capacity for the manufacture of the company's range of contact lenses. Currently, 1,500 people are employed at the Waterford plant.

Previous restructurings took place in 2018 (100 jobs created), 2015 (125 jobs created) and 2014 (200 jobs lost).
