Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Professional services company Accenture will create 500 new jobs in Ireland over the next three years. The new roles will be based mainly in Cork, at a new regional hub, and also in Dublin at its research and development innovation centre. The roles will be based mainly in the company’s life sciences sector across a range of areas including technology, cloud, security, strategy, creative, design, digital supply chain, cloud, and artificial intelligence.
The business expansion is expected to enhance the company's innovation capacity and to support its work in the life sciences sector.
Accenture currently employs about 5,000 people in Ireland.
In addition to this job creation plan, in Ireland, Accenture has created about 300 jobs in 2017, 250 jobs in 2016, 250 jobs in September 2015 and another 200 jobs in October 2015, 140 jobs in 2013, 100 jobs in 2012 and 100 jobs in 2007.
