Description
As announced on 15 June 2021, the UK-based pharmaceutical company AstraZeneca will be closing its site in Wedel which will result in the dismissal of 175 employees in the production. The decision has been made as a reaction to the market demand for the products. A social plan will be implemented by the end of 2021.
In addition to the production site's closure, the headquarters will be relocated from Wedel to Hamburg. The new headquarters will allow AstraZeneca to continue to grow and implement new modern forms of working.
AstraZeneca has approximately 900 employees in Germany.
