Description

The US-based fast food chain McDonald’s announced that it will create 20,000 new jobs across the UK and Ireland over the next 12 months. Under the business expansion, the chain is to open 50 new restaurants in both countries.

McDonald’s points out that these jobs will not be replacing those lost during the COVID-19 pandemic but will, instead, be supporting its growth. The chief executive of McDonald's UK and Ireland reveals that McDonald’s is facing recruitment difficulties, in line with the broader sector.

McDonald’s employs more than 130,000 employees in the UK and Ireland.
