European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
The supermarket chain Real announced that it will close its headquarters in Düsseldorf. Around 800 employees will be affected by this step with first dismissals being currently realised. The company has negotiated a social plan which foresees to offer severance payments to the affected employees. The size of severance pay depends on different factors, such as age of the employees, their monthly pay and the length of their employment with the company. The employees are also provided with training on job applications and coaching.
