European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
NDC mediagroup, a publisher of local and regional newspapers and news websites in the Northern provinces of the Netherlands, announced 100 job cuts. The company became part of Belgian publishing company Mediahuis last year and the new owners have decided to reorganise to make NDC profitable again, after several years of losses.
NDC has reached and agreement with trade unions about a social plan. Union representatives expressed their content about the social plan, but are also concerned about the future of local and regional journalism.
NDC mediagroep is the largest regional media company in the Northern provinces of the Netherlands with 580 employees.
