Description

The German discount supermarket chain Lidl announced that it will create about 2,600 new jobs at its headquarter, stores and distribution centres across Poland in 2021. The source also reports that the chain is going to increase monthly wages at every level of its sale structure as of March 2021. Additionally, each employee with a minimum six months of seniority will receive an annual benefit of between 50% and 100% of their salary.  All new employees will receive a benefit package, including private medical care, life insurance and training programme. The company estimates that it will allocate PLN 120 million (€26.69 million) for the increase in wages and benefits.

In Poland, Lidl has been operating since 2002. Currently, the company employs nearly 24,000 employees across the country.

Previous business expansions were announced in February 2020 (2,000 jobs created), September 2019 (1,000 jobs created) and March 2019 (600 jobs created).
