The Modern Milkman, the British tech and home delivery company has announced that it will create 300 new jobs by the end of 2021 as it is expanding its operations in the north of England. The jobs include 100 office-based roles and 200 delivery driver roles. The company has recently secured GBP 5 million (€5.5 million as at 29 January 2021) investment aimed at environmentally sustainable businesses.
The Modern Milkman was founded in 2018 – it delivers milk, dairy products and other groceries from local suppliers directly to households. The company uses reusable and returnable packaging and customers use an app-based platform to manage their orders. The Modern Milkman has experienced rapid expansion since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic as demand for the home delivery of groceries has grown.
