Description

Bosch, an international manufacturer of technological and technical products, has announced a delocalisation of its activities at the facility in Tienen. The facility is specialised in the manufacturing of windscreen wipers. However, because of cost saving measures, the international company management has decided to remove around half of the production to Serbia. In total, approximately 400 employees are at risk of losing their job, 158 white collar and 242 blue collar workers. The news of the delocalisation came as a shock as there have been significant dismissals in past years. As a result, even though they are still receiving their salaries, employees have ceased production.

In the past there have been delocalisation to other countries for this facility as well, in those cases mainly to Romania in both 2005 and 2003.
