Description

Assistance Publique-Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) has announced the creation of 1200 jobs over the next three years as part of its 'Social Project 2021-2025'. The project aims to increase the number of carers, with the creation of 885 additional jobs to cope with labour force shortages (nurses, physiotherapists, midwives, radio manipulators). In addition, 300 jobs will be created to develop professional promotions and enable more care assistants to become nurses. Finally, 115 positions will be added in 2021 to strengthen the services willing to experiment with new ways of organising work, with slightly longer days (8 hours instead of 7 hours 36 minutes) but with more days off.

The use of fixed-term contracts must also be drastically reduced, with the regularisation of workers who have been employed for more than two years and the titularisation of future carers hired. Finally, the 'Social Project' also plans to increase housing and childcare provision. These recruitments are linked to the resources released by the government in July 2020 (€8.2 billion) to raise the salaries of hospital staff and to finance 15,000 new hires, half of which will be for job creation and half to fill existing but unfilled positions.

The largest employer in the Île-de-France region, AP-HP has 100,000 professionals, including 52,000 nurses and paramedics, 12,300 doctors and 3,600 interns. A former reorganisation was recorded in 2004, with 900 job cuts.
