Description
The ACS group, the Spanish multinational of the construction and infrastructure development industry, has announced a collective redundancies plan affecting 207 employees of Intecsa Ingeniería Industrial (a subsidiary company for the execution of projects for the hydrocarbon production and process industry) and 53 in Initec Energía (a subsidiary of engineering projects).
ACS and unions (CCOO and UGT) have started negotiations on the terms of the restructuring plan. The operation coincides with the sale of part of ACS's industrial business to the French company Vinci for €5,200 million. The unions foresee that other industrial subsidiaries of the group will be affected before the sale: Ragados Offshore, Cymi, Maessa, Maetel, Imasapi, Etra or Semi, among others. The company has not commented on the reasons for the dismissals. The deadline for negotiations ends on December 23. If an agreement is not reached, the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid must resolve the conflict.
