Description
The Man+Hummel Group, the Germany-based car parts manufacturer, has announced that it will close its site in Wolverhampton, making 230 jobs redundant. The production will be relocated to the Group’s other European sites.
A statement by the Group said the closure was motivated by the ‘dramatic decline’ in the volume of orders for its products. The statement referred to the difficult market conditions and the ongoing structural change of the European automotive industry as the reasons for the reduction in production volumes.
The Man+Hummel Group manufactures filtration systems, such as air and oil filters used in cars. The Group has 80 sites worldwide, including four sites in the UK, and it employs 22,000 people.
