Ethics in the digital workplace
Digitisation and automation technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI), can affect working conditions in a variety of ways and their use in the workplace raises a host of new ethical concerns.
Polish bank BNP Paribas Bank Polska announced that it will cut up to 800 jobs throughout a collective dismissal programme. The job cuts will be implemented from 2021 through 2023 and affect the bank’s head office and sales network across the country. The bank will negotiate the conditions of the programme with the local trade unions. The reduction is due to changes in the market and technological developments in the banking sector related to digitalisation, the bank's management explained.
BNP Paribas Bank Polska, the seventh-largest lender in Poland, is a part of BNP Paribas, a French international banking group. Previous restructuring programme was announced in October 2018 ( 2,200 jobs cut).
