Description

Jewish Care, the British charity providing health and social care support services for the Jewish community, has announced that it had started redundancy consultations with 120 of its employees working in community centres, with a view to cut 100 jobs. The decision about the job cuts is a response to the government introducing national level COVID-19 restrictions and a rise in COVID-19 cases, which make it impossible for the charity to reintroduce face-to-face services.

In its statement the charity said the reorganisation was necessary to 'consolidate and build on the success of the outreach services', such as a telephone helpline it was already offering.

Jewish Care manages community centres and care homes in London and the south east of England, employing about 1,300 staff.
