Description

Preem, a Swedish fuel and refining company, has started collective bargaining negotiations for the dismissal of 130 white-collar employees working at its offices in Stockholm, Göteborg, and Lysekil.

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a decline in demand for refined products. The downturn of the global economy has had a major negative impact on international industrial companies, including Preem, states the CEO of Preem in a press release.

Preem will begin negotiations with the trade union. The company and the union hope that early retirement can be used as an alternative for dismissals for some of the employees.

Preem AB is a Swedish company with around 1.500 employers. Their products are sold to oil companies in Sweden and on the international market, mainly in north-western Europe.
