Description

Czech government announced plans to create 7,000 new jobs across the public administration in 2021. The government approved the draft state budget for 2021 and envisages spending CZK 239.9 billion (€9 billion) on all civil servants, CZK 12.8 billion (€486 million) more than this year. Most new jobs (4,870) will be created in education. The number of pedagogical employees will increase by 2,430 and non-pedagogical employees by 2,440. Another 1,540 posts will be created in the security forces and the army. About five hundred positions will be created across all ministries. The proposal is criticised by the opposition, analysts and the Supreme Audit Office. They consider the increasing share of people in the state sphere in the total workforce in the Czech Republic to be alarming.
