European Restructuring Monitor (ERM)
The restructuring events database contains factsheets with data on large-scale restructuring events reported in the principal national media and company websites in each EU Member State. This database was created in 2002.
Viadrus, the largest Czech manufacturer of heating technology, has announced approximately 250 redundancies in the first half of 2021 due to the closure of the foundry and related operations for the production of boilers and radiators. According to the company, classic boilers and radiators have not been able to establish themselves on the market with the current trends in heating. Given the growing commitments of the European Union and its Member States, the heating technology market will move even further towards alternative ecological technologies and materials.At the end of 2019, the company employed over 370 people, almost 300 of whom worked in manual occupations. The company will only maintain the operation of the steel and non-ferrous metal foundry as well as the customer service centre.Viadrus is a traditional Czech manufacturer of grey cast iron products, especially boilers and radiators. It is also one of the major players in the European heating market. It produces about 25,000 boilers and about 300,000 radiators a year.
