Description

Almost 30% of the workforce at Uber in Limerick city are to be made redundant. Some 140 staff will be made redundant on or after 12 June 2020. The company employs 500 customer service staff at its Limerick city offices, which looks after its markets in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Uber established its European Headquarters in Limerick city centre in 2015. Initially the firm employed 300 people but it has expanded over the past five years. It was reported in 2018 that Uber was to continue its expansion in Limerick.
