Description
BDX, a Swedish logistics and industry company, is to create up to 70 new jobs. The company is expanding because they have been awarded a contract for handling operation and maintenance services on the railway lines Riksgränsen-Murjek and Kiruna-Svappavaara in northern Sweden, which amounts to a total distance of 350 kilometres.
The contract will come into force in October 2021 and will run for five years, with the possibility of an extension for an additional two years. The contract is worth SEK 1 billion (€97 million). The project manager for BDX Rail states that to honour the contract the company needs to strengthen its workforce by recruiting foremen, inspectors and technicians. Furthermore, she states that the recruitment process will begin as soon as possible.
BDX has over 600 employees in Sweden. In addition, the company indirectly employs approximately 300 co-suppliers.
