Description
Automotive parts manufacturer Grammer has announced it will cut around 300 jobs in Germany. Around one third of the jobs will be cut at the company's site in Amberg. The rest of the job cuts will be carried out nationwide. The company stated that it wanted to realise the job redundancy scheme in as socially acceptable as possible by mid-2021. Grammer will set up a voluntary redundancy scheme in Germany. The internal restructuring will not only affect German sites, but also other European and Northern American sites. More detailed news on European and American job cuts are not yet available. Job cuts became necessary due to sales which are estimated to shrink this year by 8% partly as a result of the COVID-crisis.
