Description

The management of Thales AVS, a subsidiary of Thales group, has announced 1,000 job cuts on a total workforce of 5,500 employees following the effects of the COVID-19 crisis. The management intends to avoid forced dismissals. Negotiations with trade unions have not yet begun, so the exact figures and form of the restructuring have yet to be worked out. Negotiation meetings will take place from mid-October to the end of November for a restructuring which should be carried out until 2022. The latest information provided to the works council mentions 380 job cuts in engineering, 300 in industry, 190 in support and services and 130 in the support function (HR, communication, and others). Among the most affected sites are Châtellerault (Vienne), Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), and Vendôme (Loir-et-Cher).
