Description

LGH Hotels Management, the British company that focuses on managing mid and upscale hotels in England and Scotland announced that 1,500 jobs were at risk of redundancy as LGH continued to run hotels on ‘skeleton staff’ in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

LGH’s chief executive said the company was 'reviewing all options' to ensure that the company was sustainable in the future.

A representative of the trade union Unite said they would put forward alternatives to compulsory redundancies and warned LGH that mass redundancies could bring reputational damage.

LGH Hotels was founded in 2018 and it manages 55 hotels under the brands Hallmark Hotels, Crowne Plaza, Holiday Inn and Hilton, employing 2,500 people.
