Description

The JTEKT group has announced a reorganisation of its activities in Europe with 654 job cuts, including 219 in France, at its Irigny site near Lyon (Rhône), which has 1,755 employees. The group's economic results, which were already very low in 2018, had led the site to place its technicians and managers on short-time working since May 2019. This short-time working has been extended during the COVID-19 crisis in March 2020 and now affects all the site's employees. The company's announcement is therefore not really a surprise.

A previous reorganisation was recorded in 2009, with 86 job cuts at a plant in Dijon (Côte-d'Or).
