Description

Doka, an Austrian producer and supplier to the construction sector, has announced the cut of 300 jobs at its site in Amstetten. The job cuts will take place at the headquarters and the production site, which counts 2,000 employees. The sales department will be unaffected. The reduction of personnel will not be realised by dismissals alone, but also by voluntary departures and retirements. The ongoing corona crisis has led to declining demand - especially in the Middle East, Asia and Latin America. The current short term work agreements will end in September 2020. The worker's council is negotiating the general conditions of the job cuts. Doka employs 7,000 persons worldwide and is engaged in business in 70 countries.
