Description

The Southbank Centre, the UK’s largest arts complex, which is located in central London, has confirmed plans to cut 400 jobs, two-thirds of the workforce across all levels of the organisation. Redundancy consultations with the affected staff have already started.

A statement by the senior management of the Centre said the job cuts were necessary to stem the financial losses caused by the Covid-19 pandemic and to help safeguard the Centre’s future.

The Southbank Centre includes arts venues such as the Hayward Gallery and the Royal Festival Hall. The Centre is likely to remain closed until April 2021.
