Description

Rotterdam Ahoy, a centre for cultural and sports events and business conferences, has announced it will cut 40% of its 270 jobs. As a result of the corona pandemic, the centre has been closed from March 13 until the end of June. Since the re-opening in July, business could only be restarted on a very limited scale. The company says job cuts are necessary to guarantee the continuity of the firm. The job cuts will mainly affect employees with temporary or flexible contracts, but will also affect some employees with a permanent contract. The company is working on a social plan.

Rotterdam Ahoy is an event location for concerts, sports events (including the annual World Tennis Tournament) and business conferences. Ahoy was also scheduled to be the host of the 2020 Eurovision Song Contest.
